Reflections

Life’s seasons change, bringing both joy and struggle, but God’s love never shifts. In heat or cold, in abundance or need, he offers shelter, refreshment, and hope. His faithful presence gives us strength to endure, courage to trust, and joy to sing—reminding us he is near in every moment we face.

True faith isn’t about striving—it’s about surrender. In a world that teaches self-sufficiency, the Christian journey calls us to trust in what we cannot earn and surrender to the one who gives freely. Like children learning to walk, we grow in faith by practicing trust daily, letting go of control, and inviting God to lead. Surrender isn’t instinctive—but it is the path to true intimacy with him.

Too often, we treat God’s love like a contract—something earned by our performance or obedience. But God’s provision isn’t a reward for good behavior; it’s rooted in our inherent value to Him. We don’t seek the kingdom to gain favor or meet needs—we seek because we are already cherished. True obedience flows not from fear or expectation, but from understanding that our worth isn’t defined by what we do, but by who created us.

As I watched a chipmunk scavenging and robins hopping around after the storm, I marveled at their simple existence, focused only on the present, without worry. They don’t question God’s love or their purpose; they simply live in it. Yet, we are invited into that same peace, freed from striving, to know the One who cares for us deeply. Jesus calls us to rest in His provision, to be fully seen and loved, without earning it.
